Impact of Typhoon No.14, on September 5, 2005
Large scale and extremely powerful Typhoon No.14 is located at latitude 28 degrees 35 minutes north and longitude 130 degrees 25 minutes east, which is approximately 90 kilometers east offshore of Naze City, Kagoshima prefecture at 14:00 pm, September 5, 2005. It is presently moving north-northwest at 15 kilometers per hour.
Impact to DISCO and our response
As the Typhoon approaches Hiroshima, we have decided to temporality close our plants in Kure, Kuwabata
and Nagatani on September 6, in order to ensure safety of our employees.
No inconvenience or delay will be caused to the customers. Normal production of equipment and precision diamond blades
is ensured, as we will have a make-up production if required.
Our situation is as stated above.
