DISCO responds to the new-type influenza (swine influenza) occurrence (updated)

The new type influenza is continuing to spread in several prefectures in Japan. DISCO takes following measures against the influenza in order to minimize its effect to our business and stakeholders.
Countermeasures as of June 11, 2009

DISCO Group

-

The pandemic countermeasures office has been established.

-

Pandemic level 1 (Level 1 to 5. Level 5 requires the maximum alert.) has been announced.

International travel

-

International business trips have been restricted.

-

Business trips to Hyogo and Osaka Prefectures prohibited.

-

Warning against travel to countries where human-to-human infection has occurred is being urged (including employees' family).

-

Advisory for returning families of employees stationed overseas.

-

To make doubly sure, employees who returned from the applicable countries* after May 1, 2009 are required to telecommute for 7 days (This should be done also when the employee's family includes a returnee from an applicable country.).
* Applicable countries: Mexico, the United States, Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, Chile, Argentina, Panama, Hyogo Prefecture(Kobe-city and Kakogawa-city), Osaka Prefecture(Osaka-city, Toyonaka-city and Ibarakii-city), Chiba Prefecture (Funabashi City), Fukuoka Prefecture (Fukuoka City) (Updated: June 11, 2009)

Employees' Action (Action level 1)

-

Taking thorough health steps and checking temperature before coming to work.

-

Wearing masks during commutes.

-

Thorough cleansing of hands and fingers when entering the office building.

-

Request for visitors (customers, suppliers) to cooperate in wearing a mask and cleansing of hands and fingers upon entering the company building.

-

Request to postpone visits from the applicable countries.

-

In-house mask sales are now available.

-

Business meals with customers and other business partners are prohibited in principle.

Revision history
June 11, 2009 Chiba Prefecture (Funabashi City) and Fukuoka Prefecture (Fukuoka City) have been added to the applicable countries and regions.
And applicable regions have been limited to Kobe-city and Kakogawa-city from all over Hyogo Prefecture, also limited to Osaka-city, Toyonaka-city and Ibarakii-city from all over Osaka Prefecture.
June 8, 2009 the United States (Hawaii), Argentina and Panama have been added to the applicable countries and regions.
