DISCO responds to the new-type influenza (swine influenza) occurrence (update)

The swine flu virus-derived new type influenza is continuing to spread worldwide. In order to minimize the impact to our business and all stakeholders, DISCO Corporation has established the pandemic countermeasures office (Office head: Kazuma Sekiya, President and COO), officially announced the pandemic level 1*1, and the following measures have already been taken.
Since the new type influenza this time has an attenuated virulence, measures mainly taken are for employees and their families to thoroughly maintain their health. In addition, DISCO headquarters and plants are operating as usual, and our production line as well as the material supply lines necessary for the production are in normal operation.

Measures as of November 4, 2009

Stakeholder-involved Actions

-

Request for visitors (customers, suppliers) to cooperate in wearing a mask, cleansing of hands and fingers and checking body temperature by thermography upon entering the company building. (Receiving employees will also wear mask)

We would greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Employees' Actions

-

Carrying masks during commutes, at work and when working out of the office at all offices in Japan, and thorough cleansing of hands and fingers when entering the office building.

-

Wearing a mask in places with risk of infection, such as in a train, bus, airplane and cinema.

-

Taking thorough health steps and checking temperature before coming to work.

-

Recommendation for staggered work hours.

We are continuing to respond to the new-type influenza by setting the appropriate countermeasure level depending on the situation.
Note: DISCO launched the pandemic countermeasures program in June 2008 as part of our BCM Business Continuity Management). This program is prepared to keep the influence from a pandemic outbreak of an unknown infectious disease including any new-type influenza on business and stakeholders to a minimum.
