Introducing the energy saving DTU1540 Water Temperature Control Unit |
| DISCO Corporation (Head Office: Ota-ku, Tokyo, President: Kazuma Sekiya) has developed the DTU1540 Water Temperature Control Unit, featuring enhanced pumping capacity and low energy consumption, for the supply of cooling water and cutting water to dicing saws and grinders. The DTU1540 will be exhibited at SEMICON Japan 2011 (Dec. 7 to 9 at Makuhari Messe). |

Development Background
A stable supply of cutting water and spindle cooling water at an optimal temperature and pressure is essential to ensure high-precision dicing and grinding. There is a demand for temperature control units with higher energy efficiency and reduced footprint.
The DTU1540, featuring a highly energy efficient heat pumping system, was developed to meet these requirements. This compact unit supports power saving measures when electricity use is restricted while also achieving a high water flow rate. |

Features
Very low energy consumption
- Energy consumption is 78% lower than existing units
Enhanced water pumping capacity
- Pumping capacity: 45 L/min (cutting water + cooling water)
- Supports processes requiring large volumes of cutting water, such as sapphire grinding.
- One DTU1540 unit may be used with multiple dicing saws
- Distribution of cutting water and cooling water can be freely set to expand applications.
Small footprint
- Footprint: 0.39 m2 (W500 x D780 mm) – 30% less compared to existing units
- The DTU1540 can be used with multiple dicing saws, thus maximizing space-saving in confined areas such as clean rooms.
