Purposes for construction of the new building
Improvement of BCM1 readiness
The Kure Plant manufactures precision processing tools which are used by many customers. Because of this, if our product supply suffers a delay, it may seriously impact the production of our customers. This time, through the introduction of the following equipment, DISCO has organized an environment which minimizes damage caused by any disasters, including earthquakes, and supplies products in a more stable manner
- Use of the seismic base isolation structure
- With the construction of a new building, all the precision processing tools will be manufactured in buildings having a seismic base isolation structure.
- Introduction of solar power generation facilities (about 150 kw)
- Introduction of the cogeneration2 facilities
- Assurance of power that enables minimum cooking in the time of disaster
- All lighting in the building is LED.

1 BCM: Business Continuity Management
2 Cogeneration is a system which supplies power and heat using waste heat at the time of heat generation, thereby improving efficiency of energy. |
Advance investment in order to cope with increased future demand
As it is anticipated that the demand for precision tools will further increase, production area to cope with this will be assured.
- Improvement of production area for precision processing tools (about 1.25 times of the current)
- Improvement in production efficiency through integration and abolishment of dispersed old plant buildings

Start of operations
DISCO will start operations at this new building as sections become available from April 2012.
