DISCO Corporation to Expand Kuwabata Plant

DISCO Corporation (Head Office: Ota-ku, Tokyo, President: Kazuma Sekiya) has announced plans to invest approximately 12 billion yen toward the construction of a new seismic building in Zone C at Kuwabata Plant in Hiroshima Prefecture, DISCO’s manufacturing site for precision processing equipment and precision processing tools.

Purpose for Expanding the Plant

Expanding the manufacturing framework to meet growing demand for precision processing tools
Kuwabata Plant’s Zone A and B (completed in February 2010 and January 2015 respectively) are essentially operating near full capacity in response to the high demand in the market for precision processing tools*. The manufacturing framework will be reinforced to prepare for the growth of demand in the future.

* Precision processing tools:
Regularly replaced consumables which are used with precision processing equipment for dicing, grinding, and other processes
